Greater Lafayette Commerce taps national firm to lead CEO search

Executive search firm Jorgenson Pace, Inc. begins nationwide recruitment following months of strategic planning

Greater Lafayette, IND — Greater Lafayette Commerce (GLC) has enlisted Jorgenson Pace, Inc., a prominent executive recruitment firm, to conduct a national search for its next president and CEO—one who can match the region’s accelerating momentum with a bold, future-focused vision.

The decision follows months of preparation, including the formation of a search committee composed of representatives from GLC and its member institutions, as well as leaders from the cities of Lafayette and West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Purdue University, Ivy Tech Community College and the Purdue Research Foundation.

The committee, led by GLC board members Tim Schooler, market president at Centier Bank and Roberto Gallardo, vice president for engagement at Purdue University, began its work in response to the January resignation of Scott Walker, who helmed the organization for over a decade.

“The next CEO of Greater Lafayette Commerce will step into a unique opportunity to lead through transformation,” said Tim Schooler, chair of the GLC Search Committee. “We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader who can connect the region’s assets to national and global trends, ensure inclusive growth and help write the next chapter of success for our community.”

Jorgenson Pace, Inc. brings more than 25 years of experience placing high-level executives in chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and mission-driven nonprofits across the country. Managing Partner Todd Jorgenson will personally lead the search, working closely with the committee and the GLC board.

The Greater Lafayette region stands at a critical juncture in its economic growth, fueled by Purdue University’s national leadership in semiconductor innovation, the rise of the I-65 “Hard Tech Corridor” and a diverse mix of small, medium and innovation-driven enterprises. GLC’s next CEO will be tasked with helping guide that momentum.

“Greater Lafayette Commerce has led the community through unprecedented growth and development,” said Rachel Hazaray, chairperson of the GLC Board of Directors. “We are seeking a CEO who will continue it and build upon it for the success not only of Greater Lafayette but the region as a whole while—supporting industry, small business and community initiatives to further our outstanding quality of life.”

The search is now underway, with Jorgenson Pace working closely alongside the committee to identify and engage top candidates. Interested individuals or those seeking more information may contact the firm directly at GLC@jorgensonpace.com.
