This role is a unique opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on general maintenance experience without being stuck behind a desk. No two days are the same, and you’ll see the direct impact of your work as you support the overall maintenance of our fleet and facilities.
What you’ll do at Wabash Center:
-Apply your electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and/or general maintenance experience
-Coordinate and supervise contractors for advanced maintenance or repair work
-Order and pick up parts and supplies for maintenance projects
-Maintain a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation
-Complete reports and document workflow, and activities
-Prioritize safety in every task
-Serve as a positive representative of Wabash Center to the individuals we support and their families or guardians

Qualifications:
-Minimum of one year of experience in general industrial maintenance or equivalent, ideally including minor electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general facility upkeep.
-High School Diploma or GED preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
-Must be 18 years of age (or older) with a valid Indiana driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to be insured under Wabash Center’s insurance policy.
The following are core expectations for this role:
-Basic preventive maintenance (filters, lighting, minor HVAC)
-Minor repairs to building systems
-Routine inspections of buildings and grounds
-Fleet vehicle support (fluids, tire checks, cleaning, light upkeep)
-Respond to work orders and maintenance requests
Work Environment:
-Indoor/outdoor environments
-Exposure to weather
-Walking, standing, and bending frequently
Physical Requirement:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Climb ladders
- Bend
- Stoop
- Kneel
- Crouch
- Work safely with hand and power tools
Schedule/Hours
Monday–Friday, during business hours (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
4 hours per day
Flexible start/end time during onboarding; schedule remains consistent once set
