Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Claims Processor to join a local Lafayette team. As a Claims Processor specializing in medical claims, you will be responsible for accurately processing and adjudicating claims while ensuring compliance with coding standards and insurance guidelines. The company is willing to train someone with basic coding experience. 

Pay: $20/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Process medical claims accurately and efficiently.
• Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and benefits eligibility.
• Apply appropriate coding for claim adjudication.
• Resolve discrepancies and communicate claim status.

Qualifications:

• Previous medical claims processing experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Proficiency in CPT, HCPCS, ADA, and ICD coding.
• Ability to understand and apply insurance benefits.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Prior healthcare administration or insurance industry experience preferred.
• Medical coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) a plus.
