About the Position
The Haan Museum of Indiana Art seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Development Officer to join our team on a half-time basis. This position plays a vital role in advancing the museum's fundraising efforts through donor cultivation, special events, and development operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the arts and skilled at building relationships that support our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute major donor events, including VIP receptions and donor cultivation activities
Coordinate the annual gala fundraiser, managing all aspects from planning through post-event stewardship
Oversee the Adopt a Masterpiece fundraiser program, including donor engagement and recognition
Maintain and manage the donor CRM database, ensuring accurate records and timely acknowledgments
Assist the Executive Director with grant writing, research, and proposal development
Attend and provide support for development committee meetings, including preparation of materials and follow-up
Support donor stewardship activities and correspondence
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in development, fundraising, or nonprofit management
Proven grant writing experience with successful track record
Demonstrated event management experience, preferably with fundraising events
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with donor database systems and CRM software
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Passion for the arts and commitment to the museum's mission
