Catering Senior Coordinator

Position Summary:
Enthusiastic personality who is passionate about weddings and special events.  Shoup’s Senior Coordinators will assist in the orchestration of exceptional events through coordination between the Catering & Events Director and fellow Shoup teammates. The Senior Coordinator will work alongside the Director while meeting with Catering and Events clients. They will assist in all aspects of the catering process, including writing quotes and upselling additional services and décor. The team of Senior Coordinators will maintain separate branches of our Catering business, focusing either on events on-site at Arborwood (part-time), or specific events off-site (full-time in-office position).
Position Requirements:

  • Must have 2 – 3 years of experience in Catering & Events
  • Experience in event coordinating highly preferred
  • Must be able to communicate professionally with clientele
  • Must be able to easily learn computer software, including but not limited to online Catering software
  • Must be able to present services in an inviting way, and create a welcoming atmosphere for clientele
  • Must be able to lead a team through all aspects of an event
Position Job Responsibilities:
  • Specialize in coordination with weddings and brides
  • Assist the Director meetings and tastings with potential catering and events clients
  • Develop quotes using Caterease software for catering clients and present during meetings
  • Upsell décor, dishware, linens, silverware, glasses and more in client meetings
  • Oversee Catering staff to ensure quality service for every event
  • Lead staff meetings to inform employees of event details
  • Attend weekly kitchen meeting with other Senior Catering team members
  • Work with Arborwood Coordinator for Arborwood events
  • Train and mentor team members
  • Assist with general office tasks
  • Provide job assignments to catering staff for events
  • Work with marketing manager for social media posts and promotional materials
Preferred Skills and Experience:
This position is best suited for an energetic team player who is passionate for the hospitality and event industry. Strong and effective communication and organizational skills are necessary. Must be able to work some nights and weekends. Must have computer skills, and work well with technology with a basic understanding of catering programs and office software.  Bar and Catering Experience preferred. 
Starting Pay:
                $16.00 - $20.00
