Description
Greater Lafayette Commerce’s Second-Chance Career Fair is designed to provide employment opportunities for those who have had past criminal charges, have experienced incarceration or are recovering from substance use disorder. While this event is geared toward second chance workforce job -seekers, all members of the community are welcome to join.
The fair helps match employers and resources with individuals who are rebuilding their lives.
All employers attending the career fair are willing to hire the most qualified job seekers – regardless of background. Whether you were released two days ago or 20 years ago -- or you are recovering from substance use disorder -- we have the connections you need.
Participating in our career fair is an excellent opportunity to speak face-to-face with potential employers about the positions for which they are hiring. It’s also a great chance to provide information about yourself and how you can be an asset to their business.
Ready, Set, Go
“Ready, Set, Go,” the theme of the Second-Chance Career Fair, aims to prepare individuals for employment, provide them with career opportunities and support them on their career pathways.
Ready – The “Ready” category will provide services such as resume assistance and interview preparation.
Set – In the “Set” category, job-seekers will network with companies that employ individuals with criminal records (including prior felonies) and members of the substance use recovery community.
Go – Finally, in the “Go” category, job-seekers can connect with supportive services, which may include, but are not limited to:
• Energy
• Housing
• Health
• Substance use recovery
• Finance
• Transportation
No registration is needed to attend. All job seekers are welcome!
