DESCRIPTION:Franciscan Health is hosting a free women's health event focused on colorectal cancer and heart health on Thursday\, Oct. 29 at the Long Center for the Performing Arts\, 111 N. 6th St. in Lafayette. Women\, Wisdom & Wellness features Franciscan Health providers discussing colorectal cancer and heart health tips every woman needs to know. Presentations will be followed by a Q&A session and a showing of the movie "Steel Magnolias." Hannah Shideler\, a cardiology nurse practitioner\, will share tips about heart health and Heather Askren\, DNP\, will discuss colorectal cancer awareness. Each guest will receive popcorn and soda or water\, a Vera Bradley gift and a chance to win door prizes\, including Vera Bradley purses and bags\, gift cards and more. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. for education booths\, screenings and snacks\, with the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited and registration is required. Register online here.
