DESCRIPTION:Please join us in celebrating eARTh Day: AIR! This community Earth Day event explores the importance of air through science\, art\, music\, and environmental discovery.\n\nThe event will take place Saturday\, April 11\, from 11AM to 3PM at the Haan Museum of Indiana Art (920 State Street\, Lafayette\, IN) and is free and open to the public. \n\nThe museum will be open for free tours from 11AM to 4PM\, an hour after all other activities have ended so you don't have to miss a thing! \n\nThis year’s theme\, Air\, highlights the invisible forces that shape life on Earth—from atmosphere and climate to breath\, sound\, and the movement of wildlife across landscapes.\n\nThe celebration is co-sponsored by the Haan Museum of Indiana Art\, Purdue University’s HIFI Lab at the John Martinson Honors College\, Silver House at JMHC\, the Purdue Institute for a Sustainable Future\, and the City of Lafayette.\n\nVisitors will experience a lively afternoon of activities across the museum grounds and sculpture garden\, including:\nLive music on the garden stage\nHands-on science and art activities for children\nInteractive exhibits and research demonstrations\nNature and sculpture garden tours\nCommunity games and sustainability displays\nA presentation of the region’s State of Sustainability report\nResearchers from Purdue’s HIFI Lab will also share how scientists study the environment by observing patterns in the atmosphere\, soundscapes\, and biodiversity\, helping communities better understand and protect natural systems.\n\nSet within the museum’s historic mansion and outdoor sculpture garden\, eARTh Day: AIR invites families\, students\, and community members to celebrate Earth Day through curiosity\, creativity\, and shared discovery.\n\nFor questions about the event\, contact Kristen Bellisario at kbellisa@purdue.edu or Kelly Rosales at admin@haanmuseum.org.
